Pumpkin Carving

As a part of our Halloween half-term bucket & spade list we got down and dirty with pumpkin carving! We had Uncle James for the day (my youngest brother, 10) and although it is a bit early with Halloween a week away it was lovely for the kids to do it all together.

First of all I drew some different and funky lines to cut out for the lids.

This was pretty much the extent of what Max would contribute to our pumpkin carving. He put┬áhis hand inside, touched the gloop, said ‘blach’ then went off to play with his car! Amelia on the other hand gave it a good go pulling one seed at a time out and dropping it neatly on the floor.

Max is obsessed with tractors so I found an idea on the internet to carve him a tractor onto a pumpkin! Amelia wanted a unicorn so off I set with rough drawings to attempt to trace. It didn’t actually take long to do these which I was pretty surprised at and they didn’t drive me too insane! Ha!

James is really into WWE and Seth Rollins so wanted the SR logo, Jack wanted a carp and that left the last one as a cute mouse!

I really hope these last until Tuesday, I’m pretty proud of them actually!

Have you started pumpkin carving yet? What are you carving?

  1. We’ve struggled to get hold of pumpkins this year (or more so that i forgot to order them last week) We have done halloween crafts though! I am not a real lover of halloween as a whole but love the crafty side to it! #thatfridaylinky
